About Rick – Long Beach Wedding & Family Photographer

Hello there! I'm Rick

I’m Rick, a wedding, family, and portrait photographer based in Long Beach, California, serving couples and families across Los Angeles and Orange County. With over 6 years of experience, I specialize in capturing the most cherished moments of life through people-based photography, such as engagements, weddings, family photos, senior portraits, headshots, and other special events.

My journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California. During this time, I bought my first camera from my roommate, which sparked my passion for photography and visual communications. In my senior year of college, I worked in the photo, video, and graphics department at the Port of Los Angeles, where I discovered how much I loved this field. After college, I had the opportunity to work in non-profit marketing, where I utilized my audio-visual communication skills for content marketing. When that position came to an end, I made the decision to fully invest in photography and videography, pursuing it as a full-time career.

Throughout the years, photography has enriched my life in countless ways, from meeting new people to experiencing diverse cultures and being a part of people’s significant life moments. Currently, I am honored to be part of the talented teams at Lin & Jirsa Photography and MKE Shoots. These dynamic environments allow me to continually refine my craft, collaborate with incredible photographers, learn new techniques, and express my creativity to provide you with the best photos possible.

Besides photography, I love drumming and music, snowboarding, motorcycle adventures in the desert, and good food and drinks. My true anchors and sources of life are my faith in Jesus, my wonderful wife, our golden doodle puppy, newborn son, and my family. They are my constant sources of support, inspiration, and motivation to be the best version of me I can be.
