Hello, I'm Rick.

I'm a wedding, family, and portrait photographer based in Long Beach, California, shooting across Los Angeles and Orange County.

How I Got Here

Photography started long before it became a business. In fact, I never thought it could become a business. I grew up around action sports and always had a camera to document friends, family trips, college life, and anything worth remembering. When early GoPros came out, I thought freezing our adventures in time was the coolest thing in the world. That instinct never left.

In college, I bought my roommate's old Canon DSLR and spent weekends driving around Costa Mesa photographing anything I could find. Senior year, I took a visual communications course and interned at the Port of Los Angeles in their AV department. That's when it clicked. I wasn't just taking pictures. I was seeing people and telling their stories.

I graduated with a degree in psychology, but visual storytelling kept pulling me. After a few years in nonprofit marketing and media, I went all in on photography and videography. I've been shooting professionally since 2018, starting with video and drone work before moving into predominantly photography in 2021. Beyond my own clients, I also work alongside established studios and talented teams, which keeps me sharp, shooting often, and growing with every wedding I photograph.

How I See People

My faith in Jesus shapes everything about me. I believe we are created in the image of God, with inherent dignity, value, and a story worth telling. My job isn't to manufacture something that isn't there. It's to show what already is.

Photography is more than pretty pictures. It's seeing people.

What It's Like to Work With Me

Calm. Warm. Intentional.

I'll guide you when it's needed, adjusting posture, refining composition, and make sure you look your best. Then I step back and let the real stuff happen. Clients tell me all the time how comfortable they are on camera and taken care of throughout the entire day, even the ones who were sure they'd be awkward on camera.

My family and friends know me as fun, down-to-earth, dependable, and someone who genuinely cares about the people around him. My clients, according to their reviews, would also add that I pay attention to details and make the whole experience enjoyable. I genuinely care about you and want you to have the best photos and experience possible.

That's the whole point. You show up, be present, and I handle the rest.

Outside of Weddings

Growing up as a musician taught me how to listen before I play and support the music as a whole, not just myself. Drumming gave me rhythm, feel, and a sense of when to lead, when to hang back, and how to support the people around me. That carries into how I shoot now. I recently am really into cooking and coffee.

I'm now a family man. My wife, our baby, and our dog are the best part of my life and a constant reminder that time doesn't slow down for anyone.

Let's Connect

I believe you were made in the image of God, and your story deserves to be told with honesty and care. That's why I do this. Not just to make beautiful photos, but because the people like you in them matter.

I'd love to meet you. Let's get started.
